Rainbow Image

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...

Roscoe - Lost to Bloat 2011
Roscoe was a great old guy. He was found wandering the streets in Baltimore by a kind woman who would not give up on him. Due to her perserverance, Roscoe ended up with a home in Rescue. He was very happy to have a safe place to sleep, regular meals, care, and affection. He made friends with all the people, dogs, and cats he encountered during his brief stay with us. Although he was blind, he quickly learned how to navigate our house and find us (and the cat food). We will miss him.

Rosie
Close to six years ago I met my best friend, Rosie. It wasn't suppose to be like that. I was just going to sit down and discuss the application procedure with someone who was fostering an Akita here in Pennsylvania. She brought the dog she was fostering along for me to meet, but I already decided I was going to adopt a big, dark colored male I saw on ARMAC's homepage. But then this beautiful white and fawn colored teddy bear jumped out of this SUV and pounding over to me and plopped down in the living room (after of course taking her own personal tour, of what quickly became her new home). That was it! She picked me and I was to be her mom! Even though Rosie was only able to stay in this world a short period of time I know she made me and everyone around her better and happier just by being there. She was there by my side on my wedding day as my 6th brides maid. She was there when we moved to a new home with an even bigger yard for her; where she would bask in the sun for hours. She even fought through illness that could have taken her life and I know she did it just for me, because I wanted her to meet my son. Then she stuck around for two more years so she could play with him and be part of his life. Even being blind for the last two years couldn't stop her! I could NEVER find a more loyal, loving friend anywhere. I miss my best friend terribly, but I know now she is in a beautiful place where she can wake up and be able to see, bask in the morning sun, run with her friends, and hopefully be as happy as she was able to make me while she was with us. We love you Rosie and miss you!

Roxi
Rest in Peace sweet girl! She was a genetic disaster, physically and emotionally, but a playful, happy girl nonetheless. She lived most of her short life with Charlie and Jodi Marcus
