Gabby and her companion, Snickers, are two 3 year old Akitas who were surrendered by their owner this past Fall due to no time for the dogs.  Snickers was immediately adopted.  Gabby was adopted and returned for being too active with the resident dog.  So Gabby came to Rescue.  She is a lovely silver fawn and white pinto with a black mask.  Gabby acts like she is 1 and not 3.  It is apparent to me that neither dog received any kind of training or much socialization with their former owner.  While Gabby is very friendly, she is so interested in everything that is going on around her.  She distracts easily.  However some of her energy may be because she doesn't know how to interact with people.  

Gabby needs a loving, patient and active owner who can devote some one-on-one with her, take her out often (like a puppy) and take her through training so she develops some confidence in being a good companion.  I think she would do best in her own home, although if someone has a very tolerant male dog, we would consider a placement.

I think a lot of that energy will dissipate once Gabby realizes she is HOME with someone (or family) who loves her and gives her boundaries and encouragement.

Gabby likes some larger male dogs, but she is finiky.  She is predatory toward small dogs and cats.
