Kane is a 4-year-old neutered male Akita located in Carroll County, Maryland.  Kane's owners acquired him as a puppy. Kane began exhibiting intolerance to other dogs at 5 months of age, and in the past few years has escaped his home and gotten into fights with other dogs a few times.  The living situation of Kane's family is such that there hands are tied in being able to provide the proper home enviornment for Kane to flourish while keeping him from getting loose again.  Kane is not a bad dog, but he does have that negative Akita trait of intolerance for other dogs.

Kane is described as a dog "that loves....to talk to you when he is excited", "...loves to run and jump and play catch, in fact, he will play catch with himself with toys." He is a very good, loyal boy with his family and friends, and is an over-all, wonderful Akita.

Kane was not raised with young children, and given his size and Akita trait of being rather mouthy, a home with no residents under the age of 16 is best.  Kane's new home should have a sturdy, minimum 6' high board-on-board fenced yard.  Prior Akita experience is required; a home that has prior experience successfully managing an Akita with a high level of intolerance for other dogs preferred.

ARMAC has been asked to handle prelimary adoption interest (pre-screening).
