In Septermber, Trey was a stray who was taken in and vetted by a family who fell in love with him. He was three legged when he was found and manages very well. This family wanted to keep him but was told by the manager at their trailer park that they did not allow Akitas. They were given a few weeks to rehome him and rescue was contacted. After some negotiation a deal was struck and Trey was grandfathered in...because he was such an all around gentleman and so very well behaved. On one of the snow days in mid-December the owner of the trailer park came by to check on snow removal, had a fit when he saw the Akita, immediately fired the manager and gave the owner 3 days to find another place for Trey. They called rescue and luckily we just had a space open up. In his home, Trey lived with birds, cats, small dogs and children. We have found him to be a very nice delightful dog who just loves people !!
Although Trey is three legged, I have found from the many handicapped dogs I have been fortunate enough to share my life with that they do not fell handicapped. They think they are normal and we treated them just the same as our normal dogs. If you have room in your heart and home for Trey, contact us.
