Hello,

I have to unfortunately rehome my Akita due to financial and living situation after 5 good years with her. I am on a difficult time constraint to find her the right fit and I have all of her info ready. I am in need of some expertise on the matter in hopes of finding her either a safe temporary situation until a permanent home is found or a new home entirely within a month or so. Someone capable of handling her properly and dealing with her specific food and housing needs.

Kheeli is a 7 yr old ball of energy.
She loves running and playing with toys in a fenced yard away from any other dogs or small animals.
She has not shared a home with kids due to their unpredictable nature, as she likes routine and a structured household.
She likes to be the only dog in the home and once acclimated enjoys head scratches and belly rubs from a trusted human, in a calm environment.
Kheeli has had poorly managed interactions as a young dog with other dogs that has resulted in her not being so trusting as first.
She remains happy in a controlled home.
She is crate trained and knows where to go for breakfast and dinner time.
She is on a current medication regimen for anxiety and nerves, and special gastrointestinal food to avoid upset.
All health concerns are under control.
And takes monthly heart worm interceptor, had a case of heart worms caught early when she was 2 and has been healthy since. (Except the gastrointestinal issues that are now fine with the food).

She loves tough chewer toys but will sleep with a soft toy of her choosing. She can be mischievous like most dogs and sniff and get into things as she can reach counters and get into things if left out and unattended so best to keep a tidy space and allow for free safe wondering of the home.
She wears a muzzle on walks to help deter her from eating things off the ground, and help her feel safe when walking around other dogs. Avoiding direct contact with other dogs and kids is ideal to keep her happy and safe.

Would love to run in a big field if escaped from home, but do not recommend being unleashed in public. Utilize muzzle for her safety and security.

Health history:
Heart worms caught early when I took her in for her first vet visit upon taking her in from a previous owner. Was managed and taken care of promptly and take monthly preventative.

Has a history of gastrointestinal upset, but has been managed and is healthy and happy with current vet recommendations for royal canine gastrointestinal wet/dry mixed. And probiotics for healthy gut is helpful when available.
