IF YOU SEE ADOPTION PENDING ON A DOG, THEY ARE IN THEIR ADJUSTMENT PERIOD IN THEIR NEW HOME.  Once we hear from th new owners at the end of that period, the adoption is permanent.

Asami is a 2-3 year old female.  She is a
GORGEOUS black brindle girl with beautiful white markings.  She is in good shape, good weight and gorgeous coat.

When Asami first came into rescue, she was very unsure of people. The kennel owner where she first stayed because of a lack of foster space, took a lot of time to gain Asami's trust and even got Asami comfortable enough to show her silly side. Once a foster home became available, Asami was moved from the kennel to a home and her transformation has been remarkable. She is leery of strangers and does best in a more laid-back environment. She can be walked side-by-side with the resident male dog. She has shown no signs of aggression towards the resident female.

While she was being medically evaluated, she was being restrained by a person she did not know and the exam was causing her some pain, but she showed no signs of aggression towards any of the people involved. (She did try to twist and contort in all possible ways to try to get out of being examined, so she was not going to just lie there and let strangers do anything and everything to her, but she was never aggressive in her attempts.) She was diagnosed with a luxating patella, but the surgeon determined it was not so bad as to require surgery.

Asami is a big girl that loves to go for walks and rides in the car. She is crate trained and will run into her crate very willingly if she believes that she will get a treat; she really wants to please her humans.

Because of her size and energy, she is best in a home without small children. She is on the timid side, so transitions in her forever home are going to need to be slow and methodical and she will most likely need a calm and patient owner. However, she will make someone a very special addition to their family.
